The role of quality management in raising the efficiency of graduates and their suitability for the labor market in institutions of higher tourism education (Applied study on Cairo Higher Institute for Tourism and Hotels)

Abstract

Higher tourism education is witnessing great interest in most countries of the world, because of its great importance in the development and advancement of societies. However, the institutions of higher tourism education in Egypt face many challenges, which call for the application of comprehensive development programs, highlight the role of quality management in developing these educational institutions, and then provide qualified human resources for the labor market in the tourism field.
The research aims to shed light on Egypt's experience in quality assurance and accreditation, and then present proposals to contribute to achieving alignment between the outputs of higher tourism education and the tourism labor market.
The results of the study showed that the curriculum taught in the Department of Tourism Studies is advanced curricula, but they are not commensurate with developments in the tourism labor market.
The research recommendations are the design and implementation of training programs on an ongoing basis by developments in the labor market to raise the efficiency of students and graduates, and qualify them for the tourism labor market.
