The Effect of Digital Transformation on the Performance of Green Yacht Tourism; Applied to Canal Cities

Abstract

This study aims to explore the dimensions of digital transformation (building a digital transformation strategy, technological environment, electronic management, human resources management, and spreading the culture of digital transformation) and its impact on improving the performance of green yacht tourism in canal cities. Data was obtained from surveying 90 questionnaires of shipping agencies, employees of the General Authority for Tourism Promotion, the Ministry of Tourism, the Suez Canal Authority, the Tourism Department in the Canal Governorates, in addition to e employees of the Ports and Yacht Clubs. A total of 84 responses were obtained, with a response rate of 93 %. SPSS version 22 was employed as the primary data analysis technique. The results indicate that the dissemination of the culture of digital transformation positively affects the performance of green yacht tourism to keep pace with the rapid developments to improve the level of performance, which requires the flexibility of workers, and it was found that the lack of human resources training to transform digital transformation applications negatively affect the completion of yacht procedures easily and conveniently. The study recommended working to raise the efficiency and training of workers in the field of tourism on how to deal with digital transformation to provide tourism services in a way that suits owners of tourist yachts and remove the difficulties they face with the importance of digital culture
