The Impact of Authentizotic Climate on Innovative Work Behavior in the Hospitality Industry: Psychological Empowerment as a Mediator and LMX as a Moderator

Abstract

This research aims to identify the effect of the authentizotic climate on innovative employee behavior in Egyptian hotels through psychological empowerment as a mediator and leader-member exchange (LMX) as a moderator. The field study was applied using the survey method on a simple random sample of employees in five-star hotels in Sharm El-Sheikh. The study relied on testing hypotheses and validity of the theoretical model upon the SEM method via the “Partial least squares PLS” technique with SmartPLS-3.The study results showed that an authentizotic climate positively and significantly affects innovative work behaviors in hotels through psychological empowerment as a mediator, and the leader-member exchange as a moderator. The study recommended that Egyptian hotels create an authentizotic work climate with its four dimensions. that empowers their employees psychologically and develops their innovative work behaviors, and at the same time pays attention to the quality of relations between leaders and employees in hotels.
