Abstract

The research aims to shed light on the role that virtual reality technologies play in stimulating tangible cultural heritage tourism and promoting this style, by influencing tourists’ decisions and thus increasing tourist attraction, As well as introducing the Serapeum area in Alexandria and its archaeological components, reliance on virtual reality applications has become widespread and of great interest as it is the latest application of information and communications technology, because of the many advantages and benefits it offers that enable tourists to experience travel virtually. It plays to stimulate the tourist's desires and motivations for a real visit by influencing the travel decision and determining the tourist destination. The research focuses on the Serapeum area in particular, which is a tourist attraction because it contains important heritage sites that were built during the Ptolemaic and Roman eras. The field study was conducted on workers in tourism companies in various governorates of Egypt, by distributing questionnaires to a random sample of workers in tourism companies at various job levels, in order to determine the vision of tourism companies for applying virtual reality technologies. The results indicated the existence of vital websites that offer virtual tours of tangible cultural heritage, Companies apply virtual tourism to tourism companies’ websites, websites, as they are responsible for marketing heritage tourism programs and sites, The possibility of the tourist experiencing before purchasing through interaction as if in the real World. ذ
