This research aims to highlight the importance of fruit platter in Islamic palaces and houses, highlighting the beauty of fruit in terms of shape, color, taste, and aroma. It also explores the luxury and cultural sophistication it represents, and how caliphs and the wealthy brought a variety of rare fruits from across Islamic countries. This study explores the role of artists in the Islamic era in highlighting fruit plates, in light of frescoes and Arabic manuscripts, the most famous fruits included in fruit plates, the shapes, sizes, decorations, and locations of these plates in homes and palaces. This study aims to reveal the distinguished position that fruits and their produce occupied in Islamic society, in light of what is mentioned in the Holy Quran and the sayings of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), and the role of Caliphs, statesmen, scholars, and artists in caring for these healthy and civilized foods, and the inspiring social anecdotes related to them. This study will follow a scientific historical method by collecting evidence from historical sources and references that document the care given to fruits, the means of acquiring them, and the abundance of orchards across Islamic countries. It will then apply the descriptive and analytical method to examine fruit dishes depicted in artistic representations. This aims to provide a comprehensive image of the status of fruits and their plates, and their role in reflecting the sophistication and cultural refinement of Arab and Islamic society.
